The latest Star Wars extravaganza Solo: A Star Wars Story introduced a 45 second TV spot during the Super Bowl and then a teaser trailer a few days later on February 7.  So far, the teaser itself had nearly 9 million views on YouTube.

Now, audiences can take a peek into a spanking new Millennium Falcon, perhaps before it got into the capable ownership of Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich).  The internal hallway in the middle of the iconic smuggling space ship was gleaming white without the dents and scratches from lightsaber practice.

It confirmed the story of Han that he was an Imperial pilot in his youth.  A scene in the TV spot featured him with a recruiter or an officer of the Empire asking him questions at which branch he would like to be assigned.

Another character trying to get Han was Tobias Beckett, played by Woody Harrelson. His offbeat demeanor suggests that he may be the person that brought him outside of Imperial justice and into a ragtag team of smugglers that includes Chewbacca.  Another character, Qi'ra (Emilia Clarke) looked enigmatic but she did have the look of royalty or she ranked high enough to get into lavish parties like in one scene.

Both the TV spot and the teaser trailer also suggested that Han and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) meet for the first time in this movie.  In the final scene of the TV spot, Chewie patted Han Solo's back, showing us what might be the beginning of that legendary partnership which spanned the galaxy and numerous battles right until The Force Awakens.

For loyal fans of the Star Wars franchise, there were pieces of the classic Han Solo shown that could endear the fans to Alden Ehrenreich.  One was when he gasped nervously when Qi'ra told him, "I might be the only person who knows what you really are."  He does gets scared when a beautiful girl could see right through his defenses.

The other was when the Falcon was escaping a Star Destroyer and Han said to Chewie, Lando Calrissian, Qi'ra and L3-37 (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), "I thought we were in trouble there for a second but it's fine." Then a gigantic tentacle was hurtling towards the ship.  Of course, when Ehrenreich as Han Solo understood Chewbacca and he spoke for him to Beckett was essential Han Solo.

Since it's a teaser trailer, it is supposed to pump up the audience and minute hints of the story are all that we can ever get.   The first scene though with Han booting up the Falcon together with the clicks of buttons and switches meshing with the teaser's score might put forward the idea of the movie revolving around Han adopting the Falcon and its crew, making the ship a significant character as well.

The vibe, if you will, was like a Western with Sergio Leone's close-ups of small actions like the flicking of switches and a hand reaching for a blaster.  Lando also looks dapper with an awesome outfit and a cool portrayal from Donald Glover.  If this was Director Ron Howard's plan after assuming the helm last June 2017 when Phil Lord and Chris Miller left the production, the franchise seems to be in stable hands.  Given the crowded Summer movie season, it surely needs a win with this episode.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will be in United States theatres on May 25, 2018 which happens to be the 41st anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope.
